Pursuing greater ruggedness and inheriting the DNA of the first G-SHOCK model (DW5000), the GW5000U-1 is built with a solid metal case and a screw-down case back. This watch is also equipped with an advanced technology, Multi-Band 6, which receives standard radio waves from 6 stations around the world. The metal case and screw-down caseback are made of DLC (diamond-like) to improve wear resistance, while the screw-down caseback is mirror-polished to create a luxury finish. In addition, the resin band uses a urethane that is soft and comfortable to wear. Evolved from the original G-SHOCK design, born in 1983, the GW5000U-1 is a refined model that boasts high-quality technology and finishes.
