In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model with a slim case, narrow indexes and a steel bracelet. Its wide horizontal lug, typical of the time, was perfectly integrated into the flat tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. ”PR” stands for ”precise” and ”sturdy.” The ”X” stands for the Roman numeral ten and for the pressure of 10 bar, which corresponds to a depth of 100 meters, to which the watch is water-resistant. In 2021, Tissot is launching the new PRX as a modern interpretation of the previous model. The 316L stainless steel case of the Tissot PRX is 40 mm in diameter. It has a slightly tonneau shape with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 steel and 18-carat gold has an 18-carat rose gold bezel, which, together with the same color indexes and hands, create a pleasing contrast with the blue dial. The hands of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 steel and 18K gold have a SuperLumiNova® coating and are positioned one above the other with a very small gap. This allows the dial to be brought closer to the watch crystal. The optical effect achieved by Tissot designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and thinner than it actually is. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 steel and 18K gold has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a mineral glass case back. Your Swiss Made automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours is equipped with a Nivachron hairspring, known for its excellent magnetic field security. The watch has a 316L stainless steel bracelet.
